IsExpressionCharacter Function

Overview

The IsExpressionCharacter function tests if a character is an expression character, including operators and grouping characters.

Syntax/Parameters

Syntax

boolean = IsExpressionCharacter ( char value );

Parameters

value

A char to test. The character can be any type that will resolve to an integer.

Return Value

Returns TRUE if value is an expression character or FALSE if it is not.

Remarks

The IsExpressionCharacter function checks the following characters:

( Left parenthesis / Division ~ Invert
) Right parenthesis + Addition ! Not
{ Left brace - Subtraction . Period
} Right brace \ Backslash : Colon
[ Left bracket ^ Exponent , Comma
] Right bracket % Modulo ? If
< Less than sign = Equality ; Semicolon
> Greater than sign " Double quote    
* Multiplication ' Single quote
