Overview
The IsPercentage function tests if a string contains an appropriately formatted percentage value.
Syntax/Parameters
Syntax
boolean = IsPercentage ( string value );
Parameters
value
A string to test.
Return Value
Returns a boolean value as TRUE if value contains appropriate characters and is formatted correctly or FALSE if it does not contain appropriate characters or is improperly formatted.
Remarks
The IsPercentage function checks for a ‘%’ character, a decimal character, and numeric characters. It also checks to see how many decimal points there are and whether there are actually numbers present. The percent symbol must be the last item in the string.
Commas are not allowed.
