Chapter Five — General Functions (continued)
Overview
The OctalToInteger function converts a string of octal numbers (base 8) to an integer.
Syntax/Parameters
Syntax
qword = OctalToInteger ( string data | wstring data );
Parameters
data
A string or wstring with an octal number.
Return Value
Returns a qword containing the octal equivalent of value or 0 on failure. Use the GetLastError function to retrieve error information.
Remarks
The OctalToInteger function will not process negative numbers. The integer value may contain up to 64 bits of information and must therefore be stored in a qword.
The value string need not be led by a ‘0’, which is the convention for differentiating an octal number from a decimal number. If the string parameter cannot be converted to an integer, the GetLastError function will return ERROR_SYNTAX.
