DoesVolumeSupportWriting Function
Overview
The DoesVolumeSupportWriting function checks whether a volume is write protected or locked.
Syntax/Parameters
Syntax
boolean = DoesVolumeSupportWriting ( string name );
Parameters
name
A string specifying a volume. The string can contain path and file information so long as it resolves to a volume, UNC or cloud name.
Return Value
A boolean value as TRUE if the volume supports writing files or FALSE if not.
Remarks
Some volumes, specifically removable volumes such as SD cards, allow write locking. This function allows a volume to be pretested prior to attempting to creating, writing, deleting or renaming files on the specified volume.
