Chapter Six — File Functions (continued)
Overview
The MoveToNonBlankLine function finds the next non-blank line within a Mapped Text or Edit Object and returns the index position.
Syntax/Parameters
Syntax
int = MoveToNonBlankLine ( handle hMappedText, int index, [boolean backward] );
Parameters
hMappedText
A handle to valid Mapped Text or Edit Object.
index
An int containing a zero-based index of the line from which to start searching.
backward
A boolean indicating to move backward up the list of lines. If omitted or FALSE, the function scans forward.
Return Value
Returns an int specifying the index of the next non-blank line or a formatted error code on failure. Use the GetLastError function to retrieve error information. If the scan reaches the beginning or end of the file, ERROR_EOD is returned.
Remarks
Blank lines count as empty lines or lines with only white space. If the index parameter specifies a non-blank line, the function will return that index.
