Chapter Eleven — SGML Functions (continued)
Overview
The SGMLStringToValue function converts a basic measurement to a structure parameter value as a PVALUE (dword).
Syntax/Parameters
Syntax
PVALUE = SGMLStringToValue ( string value )
Parameters
value
A string containing a simple value such as “12pt” or “0.125in”.
Return Value
A PVALUE (dword) as a structured presentation of the data or a formatted error code. Use the GetLastError or IsError to retrieve a formatted error code or to test for an error.
Note that PVALUE values can appear to be errors since they do use the top bit of the dword (0x80000000). Therefore the last error functions must be employed to determine if an error occurred.
Remarks
Structured parameter values can represent measurements, errors, keywords and strings. This function only processes measurements.
Measurements are generally in 100ths of units except for inches which are 10000ths.
