Chapter Eleven — SGML Functions (continued)
Overview
The HTMLTableGetWidths function returns a string array with the width value for each column in the table.
Syntax/Parameters
Syntax
string = HTMLTableGetWidths ( handle hTable );
Parameters
hTable
A handle to an HTML Table Map Object.
Return Value
Returns a string array containing a width specification for each column in the table or an empty array on failure. Use the GetLastError function to retrieve a formatted error code.
Remarks
The string values are the processed PVALUES for each column with a cell span of one. It is possible for a table to be badly formatted and not have the same number of column widths as columns. An example would be a discrete column with all cells having a cell span of non-zero. Get the number of columns and compare it to the array size to check for a badly structured table.
If a width value is in error, the string will contain an “(error-type)” text. The type will generally describe the error. Note, it is not uncommon for sloppy HTML code to contain CSS or fractional values within a WIDTH attribute. Such data is considered to be in error.
