Chapter Twelve — Internet Functions

12.1 Internet Functions

12.1.1 General

Legato, as part of its base SDK, provides three Internet level communications groups: Email (SMTP and POP), File Transfer Protocol (FTP) and HyperText Transfer Protocol (HTTP). In addition, while not necessarily related to internet functions, serial communication interface functions are described in this chapter.

12.1.2 Proxy and Firewall

Legato and the underlying must operate through whatever firewalls that have been setup either on the local computer or as part of a company’s internet access. See the reference manual for information on setting up proxy access.

12.1.3 General Support Functions

ArrayToIPv4 — Translates a four element array to an IPv4 dword.

IPv4ToArray — Translates an IPv4 dword to an int array of bytes.

IPv4ToString — Translates an IPv4 dword to a string.

StringToIPv4 — Translates a formatted string to an IPv4 dword.

ResolveHostName — Translates a host name to the first available IP address.
