Overview
The HTTPGetUserAgent function retrieves the current user agent string used for making HTTP requests.
Syntax/Parameters
Syntax
string = HTTPGetUserAgent ( [int type] );
Parameters
type
An optional int specifying which user agent to retrieve. The default is value HTTP_GUA_CURRENT.
Return Value
A string containing the user again or an empty string on error. Use the GetLastError function to get the formatted error code.
Remarks
There are three types or mode that can be used as a user agent:
Definition | Bitwise | Description | ||||
HTTP_GUA_CURRENT | 0 | Current string. This is the current string the application will use when making a connection. | ||||
HTTP_GUA_MASQUERADE | 1 | Masquerade string. This string could be used to masquerade as an appropriate version of Internet Explorer for the current operating system. | ||||
HTTP_GUA_DEFAULT | 2 | Default string. This is the string that the application normally uses. It is in the form of “Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; <AppVersion>; <OSVersion>)” where AppVersion and OSVersion are replaced with the appropriate values. |
