Overview
The GetNameForSID function returns the name for a specified Security Identifier (SID).
Syntax/Parameters
Syntax
string = GetNameForSID ( string sid );
Parameters
sid
A string containing a Windows SID.
Return Value
Returns a string containing the name information or an empty string on failure. Use the GetLastError function to retrieve error information.
Remarks
GetNameForSID can look up a system security name such as a user or domain.
Security Identifiers are created by the operating system and domain, certain are unique to that system and others are well-known across systems.
