Chapter Eighteen — DataView Integration (continued)
Overview
The DataViewGetClassName function returns the underlying class name for the view.
Syntax/Parameters
Syntax
string = DataViewGetClassName ( handle hView );
Parameters
hView
A handle to either a Data View Object or to a window that employs Data View.
Return Value
Returns a string containing the class name for the view or an empty string on failure or if the object does not contain a class name. Use the GetLastError function to retrieve error information.
Remarks
The Data View class name can be used to verify that the view being referenced is correct. For example, when accessing Form 13F data, the view class name is ‘Form13FView’.
Plain Data View windows do not have class names. If the string is empty, it can indicate an error; therefore the GetLastError function should be used to retrieve error information.
