21.2 EDGAR General

21.2.1 Overview

This section covers general EDGAR interface functions that allow EDGAR information, files and other data to be accessed and altered outside of an EDGAR View.

EDGAR functions are not provided in all products.

21.2.2 Compression and EIS Files

The EDGAR system employs a format known as EDGARLink Internet Submission (EIS) which is essentially a compressed version of the EDGAR XML files employed for submission and interchange with the EDGAR system.

CompressEIS — Converts an EDGAR XML file to a compressed to EDGARLink EIS file.

DecompressEIS — Converts an EDGARLink EIS file to a decompressed EDGAR XML file.

21.2.3 EDGAR User Interface Support

EDGARSelectForm — Presents the EDGAR form selection dialog and returns a form name.
