XBRLViewGetPrimaryContext Function
Overview
The XBRLViewGetPrimaryContext function retrieves the “primary context” index for the XBRL Object.
Syntax/Parameters
Syntax
int = XBRLViewGetPrimaryContext ( handle hXBRL );
Parameters
hXBRL
A handle containing the reference to an XBRL object.
Return Value
An int representing the context zero-based index to the contexts or a formatted error code. The index value can be used to reference an array of contexts as retrieved using the XBRLViewGetContexts function.
Remarks
The “primary context” is determined by examining the Document and Entity Information (DEI) and specifies the instance context for the ending period of the report.
Note that the XBRL and US-GAAP specifications do not contain a designation for a primary context.
