Chapter Five — General Functions (continued)
Overview
The IsLeaderBackFill function tests if a string contains leader fill characters. The function begins its test at the end of the string and moves to the front.
Syntax/Parameters
Syntax
boolean = IsLeaderBackFill ( string value );
Parameters
value
A string to test.
Return Value
Returns TRUE if value contains leader fill characters or FALSE if it does not.
Remarks
The IsLeaderBackFill function is useful when parsing ASCII tables or HTML tables with leaders embedded into cells. The text proceeding the leader fill is irrelevant, and the string may contain leading word spaces. The IsLeaderBackFill function checks for both dot (‘.’) and ellipse (‘…’) leader fill. There is UNICODE support for ellipse leader fill characters. Dot leader fill must contain at least three periods to be considered leader fill. A dot leader fill may also contain spaces, but only one space can exist between two dots (“. . . . . .”).
