IsValidVariableCharacter Function
Overview
The IsValidVariableCharacter function tests if a character is valid within a programming variable name.
Syntax/Parameters
Syntax
boolean = IsVariableChar ( char value );
Parameters
value
A char to test. The character can be any type that will resolve to an integer.
Return Value
Returns TRUE if value is a valid character within a programming variable name or FALSE if it is not.
Remarks
Only alphabetic (A-Z, a-z) and numeric (0-9) characters are permitted. Control, white space, special, and extended ANSI or ISO Latin characters will all cause the IsValidVariableCharacter function to return FALSE, with the exception of underscores (‘_’) and dollar signs (‘$’).
