Overview
The CellAddressGetColumn function converts a string containing a spreadsheet-style cell address to an indexed position.
Syntax/Parameters
Syntax
int = CellAddressGetColumn ( string data );
Parameters
data
A string containing a cell address sequence, such as ‘BA02’. The string cannot be larger than 256 bytes.
Return Value
Returns an int containing the zero-based integer column index or -1 on failure. Use the GetLastError function to retrieve error information. The only error returned is a syntax error.
Remarks
This function converts and returns the zero-based column value (e.g., A is 0, B is 1). It can be useful for translating spreadsheet column numbers.
