GetDesktopWindow Function

Overview

The GetDesktopWindow function returns the handle to the desktop window for the operating system/shell.

Syntax/Parameters

handle = GetDesktopWindow ( );

Parameters

(none)

 

Return Value

Returns a handle to the desktop window. The handle should not be closed.

Remarks

The GetDesktopWindow retrieves a handle to the desktop window. The desktop window covers the entire screen and is the area on top of which other windows are painted.
