Chapter Twenty-one — WebView Interface (continued)
Overview
The WebViewOpenWindow function creates a new WebView window as a pop-up window and optionally navigates to a specified URL.
Syntax/Parameters
Syntax
handle = WebViewOpenWindow ( [string url | wstring url], [boolean hidden] );
Parameters
url
An optional string or wstring specifying a URL to open.
hidden
A boolean value indicating whether the window should be hidden upon creation. Default: false.
Return Value
A handle for a WebView Object or NULL_HANDLE on failure. Use the GetLastError function to retrieve a format error code.
Remarks
The window opened will not contain a navigation bar. Because the WebView is opened as a pop-up it will float over the application. Use the WebViewOpenTab to create an in application window version of the WebView.
If the URL is not specified the WebView will default to the “about:blank” page.
A window that is created with the hidden option can be later shown using the WebViewShowWindow function.
