Overview
The EDGARValidateDate function validates a string as complying with a specific EDGAR date format.
Syntax/Parameters
Syntax
int = EDGARValidateDate ( string data, [char delimiter], [string form] );
Parameters
data
A string containing the target data to test.
delimiter
An optional char value to match as the value delimiter. This is normally specified as ‘-’ or ‘/’. If not specified, the delimiter is not checked except to be conventionally valid.
form
An optional string specifying a form context. “Allow 2050” can also be added to allow dates past the regular EDGAR limit.
Return Value
An int as ERROR_NONE (0) or a formatted error code. Use the GetLastErrorMessage function to get a text version of the error.
Remarks
Validation is according to EDGAR XML specification.
