IsWildString Function

Overview

The IsWildString function tests if a string contains one or more wildcard characters.

Syntax/Parameters

Syntax

boolean = IsWildString ( string value );

Parameters

value

A string to test.

Return Value

Returns TRUE if value contains one or more wildcard characters and FALSE if it does not.

Remarks

Wildcard characters are basic ‘*’ (match any number of characters) and ‘?’ (match a single character) characters. 

Related Functions

IsRegexMatch — Performs a regular expression pattern match on string data.

IsWildMatch — Compares the ‘target’ string to the ‘match’ string using ‘*’ and ‘?’ wildcard characters.

IsWildListMatch — Compares a list of match items against the ‘target’ string using ‘*’ and ‘?’ wildcards. Each match should be separated by a semicolon.
