On September 19th, SEC Chair Paul Atkins shared with CNBC that the agency will propose a rule change that would end quarterly earnings reporting. This announcement follows President Trump’s call to switch quarterly earnings reports to a semiannual schedule. The SEC has released EDGAR 25.2.2, which incorporates requirements for EDGAR Next, the SEC's security, access, and account management improvements made to the EDGAR system. Enrollment in and compliance with EDGAR Next is now necessary to file on the EDGAR system. To be in compliance, filing entities must be enrolled in EDGAR Next by December 19, 2025, or have had their Form ID application for EDGAR access granted on or after March 24, 2025.
