Overview
The IsUnicode function tests a string for Unicode ranged characters including UTF-8 characters.
Syntax/Parameters
Syntax
boolean = IsUnicode ( string data | wstring data );
Parameters
data
A string or wstring to test as UTF-8 and Unicode, respectively.
Return Value
Returns TRUE if the string matches various conditions for Unicode (see the Remarks section) or FALSE if it does not.
Remarks
The IsUnicode function scans the incoming data for characters above 0x00FF in value or within the Unicode character range.
For 8-bit strings, the string is decoded as UTF character by character until a character value is larger than 0x00FF is located. If a UTF character sequence is in error or not recognized, it is ignored.
