On December 8th, the SEC announced that its
Interactive Data Test Suite has been updated. The test suite provides help to filers using software to validate Interactive Data, ensuring the timely identification and resolution of potential errors before submission to EDGAR. To view a summary of the twelve revisions made in this update, see the
change log in the last section of the summary file.
The test suite comprises a number of small interactive data instances, schemas, and linkbases that are classified according to:
- whether they violate a validation check
- if they do violate a validation check, which validation check they violate
- whether that violated validation check would result in a warning or in an error that would cause the interactive data to be rejected
The revisions made to the test suite do not indicate SEC approval of any potential regulatory changes related to the EDGAR Filer Manual. For updated information on when the SEC approves updates to the EDGAR Filer Manual, refer to the SEC’s EDGAR webpage. Updates made to this test suite are not intended to create new requirements or change existing requirements for EDGAR submissions. Filers should consult the SEC rules and the EDGAR Filer Manual for specific submission requirements.
Interested parties may email feedback on the test suite to structureddata@sec.gov.
