The SEC’s Division of Trading and Markets has announced that it has rescheduled its open meeting to Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. The meeting was originally scheduled for Wednesday, January 31, at 9:30 a.m. ET. The meeting is free, open for the public to attend and will be webcast on sec.gov. During the meeting, the Division will explore the definition of certain phrases as they relate to the regulation of liquidity providers. {expires: 2024-02-07}
Specifically, the staff will discuss whether to adopt new rules to further define the phrase “as a part of a regular business” as used in the statutory definitions of the terms “dealer” and “government securities dealer” under the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, in connection with certain liquidity providers.
