New Release (5.23a) for the GoFiler Family of Products

Version 5.23a of all applications in the GoFiler Suite has been released. This release corresponds to EDGAR 24.2. This release contains improvements and corrections to Form N-PX as well as some corrections for EDGAR Submission View. Additionally, this release contains a new feature to set additional user information now required by the SEC. See the release notes for more information.

Please use the Check for Updates function to update your software to the latest version.

GoFiler Complete 5.23a

General Items

– GoFiler is moving to a 64-bit platform for version 6.0a. The switch will allow GoFiler products access significantly more memory than the 32-bit platform. The transition is scheduled for September 2024. Please review the full release notes for more information.

– A couple general changes have been made to views that employ Data View (Forms View) for editing.

– A new preferences option has been added to allow users to set the User-Agent header value for accessing websites through the application.

General EDGAR Updates

– Updated to EDGAR 24.2

– Added auto document detect for “EX-FILING FEES” document type.

– The application will now comply with SEC access rules for sec.gov. Users can set this additional information using the drop arrow on the preferences or through manually editing the application ini file.

– Corrected an issue with the Schedule 13D and 13G proof that would cause the wrong signature data to be displayed.

– Corrected an issue that prevented the saving of the Payor Information on the POS AM submission type.

– The application will no longer check if EX-97 documents have a description as the SEC has replaced this requirement with iXBRL for erroneous executive compensation policies.

N-PX Updates

– Added support for the application to paginate the data in the Proxy Voting Record table.

– Report Type will now show the appropriate options for N-PX CTR and N-PX CTR/A forms.

– Corrected an issue that could cause application instability if a large number of items were imported from an XML information table.

– Registrant Type is no longer required for N-PX CTR and N-PX CTR/A forms.

Page View and HTML

– Improved logic to not cause issues with iXBRL when changing the title of a document.

XBRL View

– Corrected an issue that would cause changes to extensible enumerations in US-GAAP 2024 to not be exported.

– Corrected an issue where the elements used in an extensible enumeration were not maintaining their namespace information which could result in the wrong element being written if more than one element has the same name.

– Corrected a problem resulting in the internal error “smbc_destroy” on application exit.

XDX

– A new taxonomy template has been added for OEF.

– Fixed issues when setting or exporting a wide variety of label roles.

– The application will treat OEF-RR the same as RR when marking content. The application should provide better suggestions going forward.

– When using the “Interpret ‘None’ as 0” or “Interpret ‘No’ as 0” option the validator will now give a specific warning if the data does not transform properly due to character casing.

– The Prospectus Wizard should now attempt to auto tag all the marked tables in an OEF-RR filing to match the functionality the wizard already has for RR filings.

– The Prospectus Wizard will attempt to identify risk dimensions for OEF-RR and automatically add them as needed.

– When tagging OEF-RR the Prospectus Wizard will use both a Risk Block and a Risk Table for table elements.

– Added logic to compensate for the default OEF taxonomy not presenting series information on the “Disclosure - Average Annual Total Returns” table when exporting.

– Corrected a problem resulting in the internal error “smbc_destroy” on application exit.

– When processing OEF-RR filings the application will no longer end a Risk Block at a Risk Table.

EDGAR iXBRL Fee Exhibit Editor

– The Fee Exhibit Editor (FEE) has been added directly to the File | New dropdown menu and New Dialog.

– Added logic to text fields, specifically notes and names, have had their respective text processing handle protected and special characters for saving and loading.

– Corrected processing of special characters on the Footnote, Table 1, Table 2 and Table 3 row edit dialogs.

– Changed the display initialization to reduce open/new repositioning.

– Added logic to detect tabs in the text stream when pasting data. If pasting into a table, the tabbed data will be placed in the current cell and then every cell to the right until either the data is exhausted or there are no more cells.

– Added a menu option to Copy Table Row on the right click/context menu within tables.
