On July 19th, the SEC’s Division of Enforcement announced that it has launched the Interagency Securities Council (ISC). The ISC is a governing body that invites federal, state, and local regulatory and law enforcement professionals to convene quarterly to review and discuss current scams, trends, frauds, and mitigation strategies. The ISC launched with representatives from more than 100 departments and agencies.
The ISC is charged with:
- creating a forum for unified efforts in combatting financial fraud
- providing insight and guidance across the ecosystem to those who may not frequently operate in this space
- strengthening opportunities to collaborate on cases to protect investors
- enhancing the cohesion between federal, state, and local agencies nationwide
- helping front line investigators stay apprised of emerging threats and fact patterns to protect their communities from securities fraud
For more information about this initiative, please contact the ISC via email at ISC@sec.gov.
