XBRL US has announced that KPMG will host a conference to discuss the importance of transparency regarding digital data reporting for climate, business, and government. Presenters also will address the impact of digital requirements introduced by the Financial Data Transparency Act (FDTA) and a number of climate rules under which reporting entities must be in compliance with digital data standards by preparing submissions in Inline XBRL, a structured, machine-readable format that meets these disclosure requirements.
Through the FDTA, US policy setters have implemented far-reaching requirements both for open data standards and for the use of the Legal Entity Identifier (LEI) in rulemaking that is designed to transform data collection and analysis. The LEI is a unique, global identifier for legal entities participating in financial transactions, and its purpose is to help identify legal entities on a globally accessible database.
The one-day event will feature staff presentations on the following:
- Overview of the FDTA Rule Proposal
- Standard Setters, Regulators and FDTA
- Features of the FDTA, including the LEI and XBRL
- Municipal Reporting under the FDTA
- Investor Demand for Environmental, Social and Governance Data
- Climate Reporting Mandates’ Impact US Business
- Preparing and Using Climate Data
- How Data Standards Express Climate Data
- Federal Regulator Use of Climate Data
- Timely and Comprehensive Data that Mitigates Geopolitical, Market, Liquidity, Counterparty and Political Risks
