On September 16, 2024, the SEC’s EDGAR system was upgraded to Release 24.3 and now supports the Cybersecurity Disclosure (CYD) taxonomy, which provides the elements for tagging required disclosures using Inline XBRL (a structured, machine-readable data language) in accordance with the related final rule.
Adopted in June 2024, these final rules state that registrants are required to:
- periodically disclose material cybersecurity instances they experience
- disclose on an annual basis material information regarding their cybersecurity risk management, strategy, and governance
Further details are available in the taxonomy guide. Visit the Standard Taxonomies webpage on sec.gov for a complete listing of supported standard taxonomies. The SEC strongly encourages entities to use the most recent version of taxonomy releases for XBRL filings to benefit from the most current tags related to new accounting standards and other enhancements.
GoFiler Complete and GoXBRL Version 5.24a support the CYD taxonomy. Please contact support with any questions or sales if you need to purchase or renew your license.
