On Wednesday, November 6th, XBRL US will present a webinar to familiarize issuers with the SEC’s rulemaking for public company cybersecurity disclosures, Cybersecurity Risk Management, Strategy, Governance, and Incident Disclosure, which was initially proposed in March 2022. The 60-minute virtual seminar will begin at 3:00 p.m. EDT. The event is free for the public to attend but registration is required. {expires: 2024-11-07}
The final rule requires periodic disclosures about a registrant’s processes to assess, identify, and manage material cybersecurity risks, management’s role in assessing and managing material cybersecurity risks, and the board of directors’ oversight of cybersecurity risks. Under the final rules, cybersecurity disclosures must be presented in Inline XBRL, a structured, machine-readable data language for filing electronically with the SEC using the EDGAR system. Digital tagging requirements for filers begin one year after initial compliance dates, which start as early as December 18, 2024.
SEC staff and industry experts, including Novaworks’ CEO and Chairman of the XBRL US Domain Steering Committee, Scott Theis, will provide guidance for filers related to the SEC’s rulemaking as well as tips, resources, and recommendations for tagging elements.
