One of the biggest and most exciting changes in GoFiler 6.0 is the introduction of Modules. A Module contains all the features and tools necessary to prepare and submit a particular type or types of EDGAR forms, or a module may encompass a specific functionality within GoFiler, such as creating and editing XBRL or converting PDFs. Our support team will be assisting you in the coming months to ensure your transition to GoFiler 6.0 is smooth.
For now, your software will look the same. But we might look a little different. Our release notes have been restructured to group changes by base software and modules to make it simpler to identify the changes that apply to your custom software. If you have questions, contact our support team.

– Corrected an issue with the internal application name.

– Added validation logic for cases where iXBRL is removed from a project before validation.
XBRL View
– The application will automatically add references and/or imports to certain supporting taxonomies.
– Made improvements to the Taxonomy Viewer.
XDX
– Changed the processing of facts with the duration item type to improve validation.
– The Set Engram Presentation function will now work with selections.
– The application will automatically add references and or imports to certain supporting taxonomies even if the XBRL template uses defined imports.
– Made improvements to the Taxonomy Viewer.
SEC Taxonomy Changes and Updates
– Added support for the 2025 SEC Reporting Taxonomies.
EDGAR iXBRL Fee Exhibit Editor
– Improved validation for ‘Amount Registered’ and ‘Rule 457(f) Amount of Securities to be Received or Cancelled’ in the Table 1 dialog.
– Corrected a number of issues with the Table 2 dialog.
– Added the ability to add line breaks to fee notes.
– Adjusted numeric syntax testing for the number of securities (differs from taxonomy but the EDGAR System suspends filings with decimal values on share amounts).
– Added a fee note ‘Edit’ button on all the table entries.
– Improved the handling of HTML code in fee notes.
– Added clarifying instructions to the template for Rule 424 filings for creating a final prospectus:

– The size of the Street 1 and Street 2 fields for the “Manager Address” has been increased to 150 characters.

– Added “EX-5.1”, “EX-24”, and “EX-99” to the list of available document types.
Form MA Updates
– Adjusted the XML writer to write the correct namespace on certain fields
N-CR Updates
– Corrected an issue with the Hide CCCs option for proofing.
N-PORT Updates
– Updated Item B.11.a to be separate fields for the Term and Definition.
General EDGAR Updates
– Updated to EDGAR 25.1
– Updated the software to automatically change with the EDGAR Next transition.
– Updated the software to favor the SEC EDGAR APIs for CIK and CIK/CCC lookups whenever possible.
– The application will now cache results from the API.
– A new “Use EDGAR API” option has been added to the Retrieve SEC Data tool in both the CIK Library and the Reporting Owner Library.
– Under certain conditions the application will now automatically correct the CCC for a given CIK.
