The SEC’s Small Business Capital Formation Advisory Committee will hold a meeting on August 13. This meeting will begin at 9:30 a.m. CST (10:30 a.m. EST) and will be conducted at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. It is freely open to the public, but there is limited seating availability. In addition, the meeting will be webcast live on the SEC’s website and archived for later viewing. The full agenda for the meeting will be announced at a later date.
The Small Business Capital Formation Advisory Committee was formed to provide the SEC with recommendations on SEC rules, regulations, and policies as they pertain to small business. This includes a range of small businesses from privately held emerging companies to small public companies. Members of the committee bring diverse perspectives from across the ecosystem of small business capital formation. More information on the committee, as well as a list of its members, is available here.
Following the August 13th meeting in Omaha is the SEC’s 38th Government-Business Forum on Small Business Capital Formation, which takes place at the Heider College of Business at Creighton University on Wednesday, August 14. This forum provides a platform to discuss perceived impediments to capital formation, which may culminate in recommendations for government and private action to improve the small business environment. This forum is also freely open to the public and webcast live. Interested participants can register here.
