An interim release (version 5.2ab) of all applications in the GoFiler Suite has been released. This interim release addresses issues that have arisen due to the latest Windows 10 Feature Update 1909. Because this is an interim release that is not part of our regular updates, you will need to use the Updater.exe file within the application installation directory in order to update the software. Users who are working with IFRS inline XBRL are also encouraged to download this release.
To update your application to version 5.2ab, follow the steps below:
- Close the application.
- Open Windows Explorer and navigate to the application installation directory. This is usually located in C:\Program Files\. If running a 64-bit operating system, your installation directory may be located within the C:\Program Files (x86) directory instead.
- Double-click on the Updater.exe file. Please note that this file contains the name of the application and will vary depending on which application you are running. For example, the updater for GoFiler Complete is GoFiler_Updater.exe.
- Press the Yes button to force the application to update.
To verify that you are running the interim release, you can go to the About dialog located in the Help Menu. The dialog will show “5.2a” as the version number. Below that there will be a line describing the Patch Level.
