On March 31, the SEC announced its Small Business Capital Formation Advisory Committee will host a meeting via video conference on April 2, 2020. This meeting is in response to the challenges small businesses are facing in coping with COVID-19.
Recognizing the extreme situation facing small businesses nationwide, Committee Chair Carla Garrett and Vice Chair Jeff Solomon called for this ad hoc Committee meeting. Members can share observations from their areas of the marketplace and discuss how the Committee and the SEC itself can help small businesses address their short-term capital needs.
The Small Business Capital Formation Advisory Committee was established to provide advice and recommendations to the SEC on its rules, regulations, and policy matters as they relate to small businesses. The advice and recommendations ranges from topics applicable to privately-held emerging companies to those relevant to smaller public companies. Additional information on the Committee, including its members, is available on its webpage.
The meeting will take place from noon to 1:30 p.m. EST. Members of the public can watch the live webcast of the meeting on the SEC’s website. The webcast of the meeting will also be archived on the Committee’s webpage.
