The SEC has announced its Investor Advisory Committee will hold a virtual public meeting on May 4th, 2020 at 2 p.m. EDT. This meeting is open to the public via live webcast, and it will also be archived on the committee’s website.
The Investor Advisory Committee advises the SEC on regulatory priorities, the regulation of securities products, trading strategies, fee structures, and the effectiveness of disclosure. It also makes recommendations on initiatives to protect investor interests and to promote investor confidence and the integrity of the securities marketplace.
Two discussions will be held during the May 4th meeting. The first is a discussion of public company disclosure considerations in a COVID-19 pandemic context. The second will focus on public company shareholder engagement/virtual shareholder meetings in a COVID-19 pandemic context. The full agenda is available here.
