On July 1st, Temporary Final Rule 10(c) expires. This rule was enacted by the SEC on March 26, 2020 to temporarily amend Rule 10 of Regulation S-T to provide relief from the notarization requirements for EDGAR access requests, subject to certain conditions. The rule was enacted as part of relief efforts due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. July 1st is the final day to rely on Temporary Final Rule 10(c) to apply for EDGAR access.
Filers may continue to submit electronic and remote online notarization in support of Form ID. Those filers who have already applied for access under Rule 10(c) have 90 days from receipt of EDGAR access to comply with the notarization requirements. EDGAR Filer Support will continue to work with filers to accept electronic and remote online notarizations. Please refer to the “Other Relief” section of the SEC’s joint statement Targeted Regulatory Relief to Assist Market Participants Affected by COVID-19.
Filers needing assistance may contact 202-551-8900 and select option 3.
