With the release of the new SEC fee rate table, the SEC changed the location of the table on their website. Because the software uses the location to download the fee rate table for use in calculating filing fees, the current version of the software will not be able to download the new fee rate table. Additionally, it does not detect that the fees are out of date because the old fee rate table is still available at the old location on the SEC’s website.
Users can manually download the fee rate table for use. We are also providing a patch to version 5.5a that corrects this problem.
Because this is a release that is not part of our regular updates, you will need to use the Updater.exe file within the application installation directory in order to update the software. Users who plan to submit filings with fees before the regular software update are encouraged to download and install the patch.
To update your application to version 5.5a Patch C, follow the steps below:
- Close the application.
- Open Windows Explorer and navigate to the application installation directory. This is usually located in C:\Program Files\. If running a 64-bit operating system, your installation directory may be located within the C:\Program Files (x86) directory instead.
- Double-click on the Updater.exe file. Please note that this file contains the name of the application and will vary depending on which application you are running. For example, the updater for GoFiler Complete is GoFiler_Updater.exe.
- Press the Yes button to force the application to update.
To verify that you are running the patch release, you can go to the About dialog located in the Help Menu. The dialog will show “5.5a” as the version number and Patch Level: psg09.dll·B; psg30.dll·A; psg15.dll·A; psg17.dll·A; EDS.dll·C; XBRL.dll·C. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.
This patch also contains some corrections to other issues.
