On January 15, 2021, the SEC’s Office of the Advocate for Small Business Capital Formation announced that it will host its second annual Capital Call on Feb. 4, 2020, at 1 p.m. ET. The call, which is entitled “What’s Happening from Startup to Small Cap”, is freely open to the public and will explore current issues that impact small businesses and their investors.
The Office will present multiple discussions and offer an opportunity for attendees to ask questions regarding the following:
- what has been happening with capital raising nationwide, from startup to small cap, with special emphasis on the preliminary effects of COVID-19 and the difficulties faced by underrepresented businesses during the pandemic
- the Office’s efforts to support both small businesses and their investors
- policy recommendations the Office shared with Congress and the SEC in its Fiscal Year 2020 annual report
The public will have an opportunity to share remarks and ask questions during the live event. Those wishing to attend may register now on this website to receive a link to join the discussion and make inquiries. Interested parties may also send questions in advance to smallbusiness@sec.gov and watch the webcast live on the event page.
