The Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) has announced that it will host a webcast designed to provide participants with greater knowledge of how enhancements in the 2022 GAAP Financial Reporting Taxonomy (including those related to recently implemented FASB Accounting Standards Updates) will affect registrant XBRL filings. The event will take place on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. ET and will be presented live via webcast on fasb.org. {expires: 2022-04-06}
The agenda for the webinar will feature the following:
- Overview of the Office of the Chief Accountant’s priority on high-quality financial reporting for investors’ benefits, OCA staff’s use of XBRL data, and the importance of tagging accuracy
- Discussion on additional validation rules included in the 2022 DQC Rules Taxonomy
- Summary of the 2022 Taxonomy, including discussions on implementation resources, new frequently asked questions, and improvements in topics for balance sheet offsetting, credit losses, taxes, and pledging and recourse
- Update from the SEC’s Office of Structured Disclosure staff on SEC taxonomies and observations on data quality
- Presentation on the use of XBRL Data in the FASB standard-setting process
- Update from FASB staff on current XBRL activities
