On November 21, 2022, the eForms system was revised to include the draft FERC Version 2023 taxonomies, validation rules, and rendering files effective for the filing of first quarter 2023 forms and all future filings. On May 19th, the FERC issued a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NOPR) seeking feedback on potential modifications to the way Natural Gas Act (NGA) section 4 rate case filings are submitted by interstate natural gas pipelines. NGA section 4 rate case filings are submitted by a pipeline when it seeks the FERC's approval to change its rates. On February 2nd, the FERC announced that drafts of the Release 2.0 Taxonomies may now be accessed in the Vendor File Library under Quick Links on the FERC’s eForms Refresh webpage. The final Release 2.0 taxonomies will be available to test and submit official filings in the eCollection portal beginning February 17, 2022. On November 24th, the FERC published a Notice of Information Collection in the Federal Register. Consistent with the requirements of the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 (PRA), the FERC is requesting public feedback pertaining to currently approved information collections, FERC Form Nos. 6 and 6T (Annual Report of Oil Pipeline Companies) and 6-Q and 6-QT (Quarterly Report of Oil Pipeline Companies). Pursuant to the Interstate Commerce Act (ICA), the FERC is authorized and empowered to make investigations and to collect and record data to the extent FERC deems necessary or useful in order to carry out the provisions of the ICA.
