In consultation with the US Department of Energy’s Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL), the staff of the FERC’s Office of Public Participation (OPP) will host a virtual seminar to discuss topics related to technical assistance and ways OPP can prioritize technical assistance for the public. The event was originally scheduled to take place on Thursday, September 16, 2021 but will now be presented via webcast on Thursday, October 7, 2021, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. ET. {expires: 2021-10-08}
The workshop will address OPP matters such as:
- understanding the public’s technical assistance needs in electric proceedings (this panel will be followed by break-out sessions for participants to share their technical assistance needs)
- means by which the OPP could support external entities to facilitate technical assistance to interested parties
- barriers preventing the public (including consumers and consumer advocates) from fully participating in FERC proceedings
The workshop is free and open to the public but registration is required. For further details on the event, including registration instructions and the agenda, visit the PNNL website. In advance of the seminar, updates will be posted on the Calendar of Events on ferc.gov. For questions concerning the workshop, contact Corey Cox of the Office of Public Participation by phone at (202) 502-6848 or via email at oppworkshop@ferc.gov.
